Good morning kids, a new week is starting,

Say  and  write  vocabulary of  food  chains

Language LOG book page 124. Activity 1. Listen to the song. Draw as Follow along in their books. Identify the picture it describes.
We get energy from food, you should draw arrows from the food to the plant or animal that eats it rows to show the movement of energy in the food chain.  Answer: Is it a predator? Why? (It doesn’t hunt animals for food.)Answer: Who are the consumers? Elicit that the plant is a producer, and Answer: Is it prey? Why?

Language LOG book page 124. Activity 3.  Look at the food chain. Imagine that one link disappears. If there are no caterpillars, what will happen to the lizards? What about the eagles?

Read the last verse of the song. Then read the instructions. Think about if one part of a food chain disappears, the others suffer.
Remember the story about the wolves.

Vocabulary and Grammar LOG book page 82. Activity 1. Look, read and complete the sentences with the sentences with the food chain words.

Answer: What is the writer upset about? (People are cutting down trees.) Why is that a problem? (Raccoons might move into the city.) Listen again and sing.

WATCH THE VIDEO first conditional.


The First Conditional The first conditional describes a possible future situation and predicts what will happen as a result. Future possibility If there isn’t enough food, If people cut down trees, future result some animals will die. The rain forest will disappear.

Language LOG book page 125. Activity 1. Write P (possibility) or R (result) for each pair of sentences. Read the sentences and decide which is the possibility (or cause) and which is the result (or effect).

Answer: If people help seals, how will it affect polar bears? (It will help them.) Why?

 This is today’s work: Language LOG book page 126. Read the box about ecosystems. An ecosystem includes all the living things in a particular area. Each part is important. If the plant and animal populations are in balance, they all survive. But what if an ecosystem changes?
Answer: What does it mean for an ecosystem to be “in balance”?

 “The Beavers of Tierra del Fuego” a paragraph at a time. Identifying Cause and Effect. Looking for causes and effects helps you to connect events.
The cause is why something happens. The effect is what happens as a result. Words such as because, so and as a result can signal cause and effect.
 Causes and effects can form a chain: the effect from one event becomes the cause of another. Beavers have no predators in Tierra del Fuego so the beaver population increases ( so  )The beaver population increases because they  have not  predators in Tierra del Fuego,  (  because  )
